Green Tech High Charter School was founded to ensure that all students, regardless of race, class, or economic circumstance develop the skills, motivation, and perseverance required to complete college. Well-taught classes, one-on-one attention, and a positive culture of family and brotherhood are all part of the extra-mile we take to ensure he can go the distance.


January through April 1st we are accepting applications for 6th and 9th grade.

Welcomes Dr. Haig-Nicol As Principal

Green Tech High Charter School has been under the passionate leadership of Dr. Paul Miller for more than eleven years. Under his leadership, Green Tech grew to create programs that serve the greater Albany communities while delivering graduation rates for underserved populations that rival private institutions.

Dr. Haig Nicol has been a part of those successes every step of the way. She joined Green Tech teaching staff fourteen years ago as a Global Studies teacher. She served as Instructional Leader for two years and then as the Middle School's Assistant Principal for three years. Originally from the Bronx, she has made herself an indelible part of the Albany community and is a trusted leader.

What is in Green Tech’s future under Dr. Haig Nicol’s leadership? Dr. Haig Nicol highlights continuing the success of Green Tech’s impressive graduation rate. She will aim to provide leadership that supports successful educational experiences for each student as he prepares for college.

Green Tech’s New Leadership is Great News for Albany

Dr. Miller leaves Green Tech to take up a position at Charter Champions in Rochester, NY, and to be with his family. He speaks confidently about Green Tech's future with Dr. Haig Nicol. "It's so hard to say goodbye, but I have no doubt that Dr. Haig Nicol is the right person for the job. She will lead Green Tech into the future and bring continued and elevated success." He will be staying on as a Success Coach at Green Tech.
