Juniors

HERE ARE SOME THINGS YOU SHOULD BE FOCUSING ON:

  • Take the PSAT in October. This is great preparation for the SAT you’ll take in the spring!

  • Learn about specific colleges by attending college fairs and meeting the representatives we host at GTH.

  • See your school counselor to make sure you are academically on track for the colleges that you are interested in.

  • Study, study, study for those SAT and ACT exams! You will take them in the spring.

  • Are you planning on playing sports in college? Sign up for the NCAA Clearinghouse at www.eligibilitycenter.org, and make an appointment with your school counselor to discuss your academic eligibility.

  • Take advantage of every opportunity to visit college campuses!

  • Continue taking rigorous coursework. At GTH, we have many options for AP and Honors coursework throughout high school. See your school counselor for more information!

  • Get involved in extracurricular activities that interest you.

  • Complete community service hours.

  • Junior year is a crucial year academically. Focus on earning the best grades you’ve earned yet in your high school career.

  • It’s never too early to start thinking about scholarships and financial aid. Sign up on www.fastweb.com and search for scholarships.
