I am glad to announce as of 2/10/2021 Albany County and the Green Tech School Board has allowed for High Risk sports to proceed this winter and spring. Due to the COVID pandemic there are many obstacles that we all will face during our Sports season to make sure our community and students athletes remain safe while participating in sports.
Due to time restrictions and many safety protocols we will only be participating in Varsity Football this Fall II season which starts March 7th through May 1st. Due to State/County/Section/School protocols there are specific regulations and information/paperwork that must be completed before your son can attempt to try out for the team. There will be a two day tryout process that I encourage any 9-12 grade student to try out even though it is a varsity level. Our hope is to add a JV team this coming summer if we find that there is interest.
Paperwork for Clearance:
Physical on record with Green Tech within the last 20 months. (you may email me to check if there is a valid Physical on record)
Sport History update with COVID 19 questions filled out. (Attached)
(If your son has tested positive for COVID 19 since March 2020 you must get written consent from his medical doctor stating that they are cleared to participate.)
Parent participation waiver. (Attached)
If your son makes the team there will be more paperwork that will need to be reviewed dealing with COVID policies and Procedures for during the season.
Student Athlete Academic Policy which is in the handbook will be followed during the season as well.
*If this paperwork is not completed in full when the student arrives for tryout time he will not be allowed to try out. Due to safety protocols students will only be able to try out on these dates, no separate tryouts will be accepted.
Tryout Date and time:
Sunday, March 7th at 1PM
Monday, March 8th at 6:30 PM
*These dates are weather permitting. Please keep an eye out for time changes in emails.
Procedures when coming to tryout:
Arrive at Green Tech to be dropped off at .
Students must wear a mask and their own water bottle.
Upon walking into the Back entrance students will be checked in by coaches.
Coaches will then take temperature readings, give student questionnaires, and make sure the student is cleared to participate.
If the student does not clear any of these protocols they will be asked to leave the building.
Upon Completion of the Try Outs students must leave the building immediately so we can clean and disinfect the area for next use.
If there are any questions or concerns feel free to reach out to me or Coach Braxton at email@example.com
